A.J. Goff, President and Chief Executive Officer

A.J. Goff serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of East Texas Electric Cooperative. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor's and master's in accounting and finance, Mr. Goff is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

Mr. Goff has served East Texas Electric Cooperative in various capacities since 2001, including most recently as a financial, accounting, and management consultant. Mr. Goff previously served as an audit partner in a regional accounting firm and, most recently, as a financial and accounting consultant to electric and water utilities in Texas.  

He and his wife, Abigail, have two boys, Peyton and Preston, and live in East Texas. When not at work, Goff is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time outdoors and with his family.

J. Jolly Hayden, Vice President of Power Supply & Operations

In his current role at East Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc., Jolly is responsible for all activities associated with power supply and market operations in ERCOT, MISO, and SPP. In addition, he is responsible for power delivery.

Previously he was the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) of Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, Inc., where his responsibilities included Market Operations, Power Delivery, and Power Supply.

His previous roles include Managing Director of InfraREIT Capital Partners, LLC., an affiliate of Hunt Consolidated, and before that, VP of Transmission Development for NextEra Energy Resources and President/Founder of Lone Star Transmission, LLC, a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources. In addition, he has also held leadership positions with Calpine Corporation, Dynegy Marketing/Trade, and East Kentucky Power Cooperative, Inc.

During his 35-plus year of experience, he has been responsible for the following: market and power operations, generation and transmission development, engineering, origination, asset optimization, organizational buildout, and strategy development and implementation. 

The Kentucky native is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in electrical engineering and holds a master’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University. 

Maggie Berry, Vice President and General Counsel

Maggie Berry serves as the Vice President, General Counsel for East Texas Electric Cooperative, Inc. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University, a Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law, and a LL.M. from the University of Houston.  Maggie is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Mississippi.

Before joining ETEC, Maggie worked in oil and gas and for another electric generation and transmission cooperative. At ETEC, she is responsible for all aspects of the organization’s legal and regulatory activities.

Maggie and her husband have one daughter and three fur-children, all of whom are happy to call East Texas home. When not working, Maggie enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and cooking.
